my mail application concept

Okay, this is an idea for an application that informs the user about new mails or feeds or whatever.

This idea was designed with the focus on easy-to-use (especially for computer newbies), nice looking and touch screen friendly UI.

Of course this is only a very simple preview of my idea to show you how I imagine an application could look like. So it can also look a lot of nicer (effects, animations and so on...)



Also important is a decent (but now almost hidden) notification over news but not get interrupt in your work. So I had the idea that this area at the right (or left) is only visable, but not clickable and it disappears when you move the mouse over it. For touch screen users there could be the possibility to hide the notification bar temporarily. So this problem is solved for both types of input.)



I also played with the idea to make this to an all-around application. you can also integrate a media player, file manager, web browser or my application launcher (also an idea that you can see in my deviant galery)



For some of those features the UI has to be extended a lot but I'm sure it would be possible.



When you add some essential features you can even create an operating system out of this ^^ something like Google's Chrome OS. But I would just go away from all these standard window lookings - titlebar with icon, title and the three buttons; next the menu bar, then tool bar and so on... - all this can be placed in a much nicer and easier way like microsoft showed us with Office 2007/2010, or Adobe with CS4, or Google Chrome with its tabs in the title bar...

Space management is just a very important factor especially on mobile devices like netbooks.
